The BYD Atto 3 will be initially assembled at the Sriperumbudur facility near Chennai. With this, BYD plans to sell around 10,000 assembled vehicles in India over the next two years. Apart from this, if the demand for the company’s electric vehicles is good, then it will also set up its manufacturing plan. Along with this, BYD will participate in the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo. At the same time, the company’s advanced blade battery technology will also be showcased.

According to reports, BYD will hire around 100 people by the end of this year. At the same time, with a target of selling 10,000 electric vehicles in the next two years, BYD will also expand its dealer network. At present it has 12 dealers in 12 cities. The company can reach this figure to 24 outlets in 18 cities in the next 6 months. Apart from this, more outlets can be opened on the basis of demand.

BYD is present in India since 2007

Let us tell you that BYD has been working in India since the year 2007, but earlier its work was limited to the manufacturing of batteries, electronic parts and mobile phones. Then in 2016, BYD began supplying batteries and bus chassis to electric bus maker Olectra. In 2021, BYD launched the E6 Electric MPV at a starting price of Rs 29.6 lakh. The E6 MPV has a range of 520 kms. It is sold to corporate and fleet customers only.
