China shared video for the first time
China has shared this video at a time when it is having tensions with Taiwan and the US and there are doubts about Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. The Global Times claimed that due to its speed and unpredictable path, it is impossible for enemy air defense systems to intercept it. The DF-17 missile is capable of attacking at a hypersonic speed of up to 2500 km.
State China Central Television released the video
State China Central Television on Saturday shared a video footage titled- Chinese soldiers showed their ability in just 81 seconds. In this 81-second video, soldiers are seen celebrating Army Day on August 1. Part of the video shows a live fire launch of a DF-17 missile from a transporter erector launcher on a highway in a desert.
Missile can be launched from any place
Earlier, the missile was shown at a military parade in the capital Beijing on October 1, 2019. But this is the first time that China has released a video of the live fire drill of the DF-17 missile. Chinese military expert and TV commentator Song Zhongping said a video of the missile being launched on a highway in the desert showed it required no preparation. This missile can be launched at any time and from any place.
The DF-17 is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead
A top US official has also admitted that the missile was first demonstrated last year on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of China. The missile weighs 15000 kg and is up to 11 meters long. It is capable of carrying nuclear warheads in addition to conventional explosives. China is fully capable of carrying out a nuclear attack with its DF-17 missile.
Tensions between China and America at peak
