Appearing for the prosecution, government advocate Manish Srivastava said that Praveen Singh, a resident of Harrai of Atrauli police station, entered the house of a village girl on April 25, 2014 and forcibly raped her. The girl was alone in the house at the time of the incident, her parents had gone to work in the field.
The case was reported by the victim’s father against the accused. On the basis of the evidence and after hearing both, the Sessions Judge imposed a rigorous imprisonment of 10 years and a fine of ₹ 40,000 on the accused. On depositing the fine amount, 80 percent of the amount has been ordered to be returned to the victim.
