Municipal Commissioner directed zonal officers about salary of cleaning workers on time

Lucknow: The sanitation workers engaged in the municipal corporation through the working organizations will now get their salary on time. Employees go on strike due to non-payment of salary for five months, which is affecting the cleanliness system badly. During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner had found heaps of garbage at various places, on which he expressed his displeasure.
He had directed the municipal officials to pay salaries to the sanitation workers engaged in outsourcing on time. Taking cognizance of this, Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh has issued a letter to the zonal officers and instructed them to release the salary every month after the attendance verification of the sanitation workers.

Sanitation workers engaged in cleaning and garbage collection through working organizations and Eco Green go on strike every day due to non-payment of salary. Due to which garbage gets dumped in the city. At the same time, the cleanliness system of the capital collapses. Last month, local councilors had complained about the deterioration of cleanliness in many areas including Khadra, Nakhas, Kashmiri Mohalla, Indira Nagar, Patel Nagar, Surendra Nagar, Mulayam Nagar, Patel Nagar in Lucknow. Employees stopped work and demonstrated at the municipal headquarters and zonal offices.
