Ayodhya: Due to the two hostels of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya operating as a residential school in the district, being in dilapidated and pathetic condition, more than a hundred children are forced to live in a hall, which will not be wrong if it is called Tabela instead of hostel. The school management has also corresponded many times regarding this matter, but till date no action has been taken on it.
The school management says that this hostel with a capacity of 400 children, built between 1972-75, has been declared unsuitable and unsafe by the Civil Engineering Department of HBTI Kanpur and Avadh University in 2019, due to which it has been vacated and proposed for demolition. has gone. Krishna Kumar Mishra, principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya said that in total there are about 17 rooms in these two hostels.

He told that talks were also held in the headquarters on May 25 regarding this problem, but no concrete result could be achieved, due to which arrangements have been made for the children to stay in the MP Hall, he told that the children should not face any kind of problem. For this, proper arrangement has been made for the fans along with the installation of lattice on the windows of the hall. At the same time, leaving aside the matter of these two hostels, apart from this, another hostel has also reached a dilapidated condition, the district needs repair. He said that this hostel would be completely repaired by 2023.

Number of seats reduced from 80 to 40

The effect of not solving the problem of dilapidated hostel was clearly visible on this year’s educational system as well. The number of students in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been reduced from 80 to 40 in the academic session this year, due to which Sanjoy’s dream of studying in the school was disappointed this time. The Principal of the school said that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has reduced the number of seats in the absence of proper accommodation.
