Lucknow: The Emergency Medical and Kidney Transplant Center of SGPGI has been fully operational today. Earlier on May 17, this center has been partially started. This center will be of great relief for patients suffering from severe kidney disease. It is being told that with the opening of Renal Transplant Center, SGPGI has become the largest kidney transplant center in the country. Emergency, Nephrology and Urology departments will do their work here.
This is a dream project of Uttar Pradesh government. On January 8, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath had inaugurated the EMRTC building. Since then till today the transfer process of the department was going on, after hard work, the PGI administration established the Nephrology department as this center.
It is being told that 111 dialysis centers have been made in this center with 97 general and private beds. Apart from this, this center is equipped with the most advanced system of reverse osmosis water plant as well as Central Distribution System (CDS) of dialysate, it is being told that this facility is available in this only government institution in India.
Pro. Narayan Prasad has told that the dialysis of patients here will be done in 2 to 3 shifts. For this, the center has two top class operation theaters equipped with Digital Substation Angiography (DSA) and C-Arm facilities. On this occasion, SGPGI Director Prof. RK Dhiman has credited the Government of Uttar Pradesh for starting this center .
