Rupal creates history in U-20 World Athletics Championships
Indian sprinter Rupal Chaudhary has created history in the Under-20 World Athletics Championships being played at this time.

Rupal did his best in 400 meters race
In the women’s 400m race, Rupal won the bronze medal with a timing of 51.85 seconds. The gold of this race went to Yemi Mary John of Great Britain, who clocked 51.50 seconds. While Damaris Mutunga (51.71) of Kenya won the silver medal.
Rupal may have won bronze but it has become his best individual performance till date.
Rupal won silver in 4x400m relay
Earlier on Tuesday, Rupal had won a silver medal in the 4x400m relay race. Sridhar, Priya Mohan, Kapil and Rupal from India won the medal in the relay with an Asian junior record of 3.17.76 minutes.
In that race, India finished second only to the United States of America (USA), who had captured the gold medal with a championship record time of 3:17.69 minutes.
Roopal joins Hima Das’s club
With this, Rupal has become only the second Indian player to win a medal in the women’s race at the Under-20 World Athletics. Before him, Hima Das had won the gold medal in the 2018 edition.

Rupal belongs to a farmer family
Roopal hails from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. She belongs to a farming family and her father is a farmer. Just 17-year-old Rupal had won a gold medal in the women’s 400m race at the National Under-20 Federation Cup earlier this year. She won the gold by defeating Priya Mohan of Karnataka, who is considered a contender for the medal.
