Duty Path is part of the central government’s ambitious Central Vista Project. It was announced by Prime Minister Modi in 2019 and its foundation stone was laid on December 10, 2020. New Parliament building, Central Secretariat and many other government offices will also be built in the Central Vista project.

Duty Path is considered to be the most popular public place in Delhi. This area, spread over 1.1 lakh square meters, has been redeveloped.

Red granite has been installed on the paths amidst greenery all around. There are 133 lampposts, over 4,000 trees and 114 signage and stepped gardens on either side of the duty path.
This is the first project to be fully developed under the Central Vista project. Work on the rest of the projects is still going on.
