The law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir is improving.

Today it has been three years since the Central Government withdrew Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir.

Due to this move of the government, there has been a significant improvement in the law and order and security situation of the Union Territory in these three years. Apart from this, incidents of violence and killing of civilians have also come down.
This is being revealed in the data released by the Union Home Ministry and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday.

Article 370 was removed on August 5, 2019

On August 5, 2019, the central government abolished Articles 370 and 35A, which gave privileges to Jammu and Kashmir.

Apart from this, the state was divided into two union territories as Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
After this, in October 2020, the central government brought such a law, through which outsiders were allowed to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir.
This law was called the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Adaptation of Central Laws) Third Order, 2020.

600 percent reduction in law and order incidents

The data of comparison of 2016-2018 and 2019-2021 regarding law and order has been presented by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

According to this, there has been a 600 percent reduction in law and order incidents in the Union Territory in the last three years.
Between 2016-2018, there were 4,894 incidents related to law and order, but in the three years of the withdrawal of Article 370, the number of these incidents has been reduced to just 804.

21 percent reduction in terrorist incidents

According to police data, there has been a 21 percent reduction in terrorist incidents in the last three years.

There were a total of 919 terrorist incidents in the year 2016-2018, which decreased to 727 in the last three years. Similarly, 166 terrorists (86 local and 80 foreign nationals) are active till July 31, 2022.
Data says that 44 top terrorist commanders were killed in the year 2021 and 18 top terrorist commanders have been killed so far this year.

There has also been a decrease in the number of soldiers who were martyred.

According to police data, a total of 290 security forces personnel were martyred in terror incidents in Kashmir from August 2016 to 2019, but in the three years since that number has come down to 174.

Similarly, the killings of civilians have also come down after the abrogation of Article 370.
A total of 191 civilians were killed in terrorist incidents in Kashmir from 2016 to 2019, which came down to 110 in the next three years.

There has also been a decrease in the deaths of policemen

In the last three years, there has been a 51 percent drop in the killings of policemen in Kashmir. 93 policemen were killed from August 5, 2016 to August 4, 2019, as compared to the killing of 46 policemen in the last three years.

According to the police data, since 2021 till now, the army has killed 37 terrorists of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir.

Similarly, a total of 62 terrorists including 15 of Jaish-e-Mohammed, nine top commanders of Hizbul Mujahideen have been eliminated.
This action of the security forces has also instilled confidence in the people of the state and they have started trusting the police and jawans as well.
