Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday, on Thursday, flagged of the most awaited Vande Bharat Express train in Odisha. This is the first Vande Bharat Express train that’ll run in the state. This Vande Bharat Express train connects States which are Odisha and West Bengal. The train will travel between Puri-Howrah and will significantly reduce the travell time between both the states.

With the launch of Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express train, West Bengal gets its second Vande Bharat Express train. The train was launched by PM Modi through video conference at around 1:00 p.m. on 18 May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a companyed by railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on the video conference session. During the launch, PM Modi said that Vande Bharat trains are being manufactured in India which has made India more independent.

Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express train Timings:

The Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express train will cover a total distance of 500 km in just 6 hours and 30 minutes. The already existing Shatabdi Express takes around 7 hours and 35 minutes to cover the same distance. With the help of Vande Bharat Express, passengers will reach there destination 1 hour prior. The train will begin its journey from Howrah early morning at 6:10 a.m. and will reach the destination which is Puri at 12:35 p.m. While returning, it will depart from Puri at 1:50 p.m. and arrive at Howrah at 8:30 p.m.

Stops and ticket price:

The train will stop at stations such as Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khurda, as per PTI. It has total 16 coaches and the reported fare will be around rupees 1,590. This amount will also include catering services which is for Rs 308.

If passengers want to upgrade the seat they can opt for Chair Car whose ticket costs Rs 2,815 including catering services of Rs 369. This train will make it easier for travellers to travel to their destination, as many people visit West Bengal for pilgrimage and a beach resort and Odisha for the purpose of tourism.
