Government of India bringing EV super app, information from charging station to reservation will be available

The Government of India is developing a Super App in collaboration with other government bodies and private firms. It will give all the information about the charging stations for electric vehicles in the country. With the help of this new app, people will be able to find everything about the charging station, location and availability of the electric vehicle at one place without going out. Let us tell you that the Super App is being developed in collaboration with a government agency, Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL). It is known in detail.

EV Super App

The Government of India in association with CESL is setting up more than 800 EV charging stations across the country. The Indian PMO also wants to upgrade the prime minister’s official car to an electrified Mercedes Benz SUV, which could set a benchmark for the common man.

The Super app will inform people about the availability and types of chargers and the charging tariff. It will also allow users to make and change reservations at nearby charging stations. The launch timeline of the app is 4 to 6 weeks.

As reported by ET, CESL Managing Director Mahua Acharya said that apart from information on the network of public charging stations, the app will also provide information shared by OEMs. This will increase the traffic at private charging points. Along with this, people will also get satisfaction that they can easily find information. You can also make reservations at nearby stations in case you need to charge your vehicles on the go.

So many charging stations got approval in the country

According to a NITI Aayog report, in 2020, there were around 1,827 charging stations across the country. The Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) has approved setting up of 2,877 public charging stations in 68 cities at a cost of over Rs 500 crore. These are being rolled out in 68 cities of 25 States/UTs under Phase II of FAME.

The industry estimates that apart from these, there is a need of around 4,00,000 points in the country. At the same time, there are 15,000-20,000 private charging stations in the country.

CESL has developed a service model involving the private sector for setting up the charging ecosystem. With the arrival of this super app, the use of electric vehicles will be very easy and people will also increase the eagerness to buy electric vehicles.
