New Delhi: Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has defended Bharatiya Janata Party MP Tejashwi Surya for allegedly opening the emergency gate of IndiGo flight. He said Surya accidentally opened the emergency door of the plane. He said that after this Surya also apologized. Interestingly, a fellow passenger sitting with Surya claimed that it was the Bengaluru MP who opened the emergency gate.
Scindia said that the DGCA has issued a statement in this regard. This incident was on December 10, 2022. It was alleged that the emergency gate of the IndiGo flight was opened. Tejaswi Surya, MP from Bangalore South, later apologized for his mistake. But the airlines have not made any statement in this regard. However, the opposition parties, including the Congress, surrounded the BJP MP due to Surya’s action.
