Currently, Tata Motors is making a presence in the mid-size SUV segment of the Indian market with its Harrier, but is losing out to popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Mahindra XUV700. The company will now compete with other companies with a mid-size SUV based on the Nexon. Talking about the looks and features of Tata’s upcoming mid-size SUV, it features the A-pillar, windscreen and front door. It gets a more aggressive rear end with bigger wheels, longer doors and bigger overhangs. The SUV will be 4.3 meters long and will be developed on the Tata Nexon-based X1 platform.

An electric variant is also possible
Based on Tata Motors’ Nexon, the mid-size SUV can be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. If media reports are to be believed, an electric variant of this SUV could also arrive in the near future, which will see a 40kWh battery pack and a range of up to 400 km. After that, it gets all the required features with better seats, more legroom and boot space. In the coming time, Tata Motors will give official information about its new mid-size SUV, after which details about the Creta and its Seltos rival will be available.
