Less severe avalanche occurred in Sarbal region of Sonamarg. The workshop of Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) operates here. Company officials informed that everyone is safe. On Thursday morning, two laborers from Kishtwar were killed in an avalanche near a construction company at Sonamarg in Ganderbal district.

An avalanche hit a village in Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday, but no loss of life or property damage was reported. Avalanche warnings have been issued in 12 districts, including Bandipora, following moderate to heavy snowfall a day earlier, officials said. Officials said that an avalanche hit Jurniyal village in Gurez this afternoon, but there were no casualties.

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has on Saturday issued an avalanche warning for north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and medium risk for Bandipora, Baramulla, Doda, Ganderbal, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Riazi districts. has been issued.
