Toyota Hyryder vs Upcoming Hyundai Creta

Toyota has launched its new hybrid car Urban Cruiser Hyryder in the Indian market. This car of the company is made in partnership with Maruti Suzuki. The Hyryder has been the talk of the market since its launch in July.

Hyundai is also going to launch its Creta in the Indian market in the coming few months. It is being speculated that both these vehicles will give a tough competition to each other.

How is the look of these two vehicles?

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the new vehicle in Toyota’s C-segment SUV. Toyota has built it on its global TNGA-B platform. It also gets a front grille similar to the Toyota Glanza with a thin chrome strip and lower-position LED headlamps with LED DRLs.

The upcoming Hyundai Creta has been built on the ‘Sensious Sportiness’ design language base. It can be given LED headlamps with ‘parametric jewel’ grille, designer air dam, roof rails and updated alloy wheels.

Creta’s engine is more powerful

This hybrid Hyryder from Toyota gets a 1.5-litre K series petrol engine borrowed from Maruti, it has been brought with the option of mild-hybrid (neo-hybrid) and strong-hybrid. This car is capable of generating 101bhp power and 136Nm torque in a mild-hybrid petrol engine.

At the same time, the new Hyundai Creta can be launched with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which generates 115hp power and 144Nm of torque.

These features are given in both the vehicles

The facelifted Hyundai Creta is expected to get a larger cabin, which is likely to get ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVMs, ambient lighting, leather upholstery and a multifunctional steering wheel.

The Hyryder gets a spacious cabin with modern amenities like 9-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, heads-up display (HUD), wireless charging, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, electric sunroof.

Both the vehicles are equipped with the latest safety features.

What is the cost of these vehicles?

The ex-showroom price of the base S Hybrid of the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has been kept at Rs 15.11 lakh. Its later variant G Hybrid has been launched at a price of Rs 17.49 lakh and V Hybrid at Rs 18.99 lakh.

The new Hyundai Creta will be priced at a slight premium over the current model, with prices starting at Rs 10.16 lakh (ex-showroom). It can be launched early next year.
