The speed of rotation of the earth‍V accelerated, completed in less than 24 hours‍t…

We have always read and heard that the Earth takes 24 hours to complete one revolution of the Sun. Now what scientists have told is astonishing. The Earth itself is breaking its own record of orbiting the Sun. On July 29, the Earth completed one orbit around the Sun in less than 24 hours. According to the information, the Earth completed this rotation in 1.59 milliseconds less than the rotation of 24 hours. Scientists have said that the Earth has increased its speed in recent years. Meaning that it is completing the orbit of the Sun in a short time.

According to the Independent’s report, the year 2020 saw its shortest month since 1960. The shortest day ever recorded was July 19 that year. Then the Earth completed one revolution of the Sun in less than 24-hours, 1.47 milliseconds.

In the next year i.e. 2021 also, the Earth continued to revolve around the Sun at an increased speed, but it did not break any records. However, according to Interesting Engineering (IE), this could be the beginning of the phase of the younger days of 50 years. The reason for the changes in the speed of Earth’s rotation is not yet known, but scientists speculate that it may be due to internal or external processes of the Earth’s core, oceans, tides and changes in climate etc.

In its report, The Independent has said that if the Earth continues to revolve around the Sun at an increasing speed, then the use of negative leap seconds will become important. In a way, it is like removing a few seconds or changing the time of the atomic clock, so that the speed at which the Earth is orbiting the Sun can be made accurate according to the time.

However it will also have disadvantages. This will affect smartphones, computers and communication systems. It is worth noting that all devices and systems are set according to solar time. Scientists believe that this will cause more harm than benefit. So some other idea needs to be thought of.

This is because in whatever form our clock is, it advances from 23:59:59 to 23:59:60 before resetting to 00:00:00. In such a situation, if negative leap second is used i.e. time is jumped, then it can crash the entire program of your device and can also waste important data.

It is also worth noting that the primary standard for measuring time i.e. ‘Coordinated Universal Time’ (UTC) has been updated in the past as well.
