Tata Motors showcased a range of upcoming new models at Auto Expo 2023, including EVs, SUVs, updated and custom versions. Tata Tiago EV Blitz was also unveiled at the event. It’s basically a sportier version of the electric Tiago that went on sale in late 2022. The new model has some cosmetic improvements over the regular model. The automaker hasn’t revealed a release schedule yet, but the Tiago EV Blitz is reportedly coming later this year.
What sets it apart from the regular Tiago EV is the closed grille and all-black trim under the headlamps. The sportier version features a gloss black finished Y-shaped motif on the air dam replacing the body color accents.
The prominent wheel arches, ORVM and rear spoiler are also finished in gloss black. Tiago EV Blitz badging can be seen on the front grille, front doors and tailgate. The interior layout and features remain intact, except for the head restraints with blue bolt motif stitching.
The Tata Tiago EV Blitz is painted white. The regular electric iteration of the hatchback comes in five paint schemes: Daytona Grey, Teal Blue, Midnight Plum, Tropical Mist and Pristine White. Read – Tata Altroz Racer Edition Key Features, Specs
Powertrain specifications for the new Tata Tiago EV Blitz are not available at this time. The Tiago EV comes with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs, giving a range of 250km and 315km respectively. The hatch features Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage technology with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. The e-motor produces 74bhp of peak power and 114Nm of torque, while the smaller 19.2kWh version promises 61bhp with 110Nm. Tata claims the Tiago EV can do 0-60 kmph in 5.7 seconds and the smaller battery version can accelerate 0-60 kmph in 6.2 seconds.
