It is known that Tata Motors is developing an SUV coupe based on Nexon, the best-selling SUV in Korea. There has been speculation about this car for a long time. The Tata Blackbird will also use the X1 architecture currently seen in Nexon. It will be adapted to the requirements of the mid-size SUV segment.
Longer than nexon
The Tata Blackbird will be longer than the Sub-4m Nexon as it is about 4.3 meters long. The company has been working on this project since 2018. In India, Tata Nexon Coupe car might come out under the name Tata Blackbird. It will compete with cars such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The car will also compete in the Indian market with MG Astor, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. Also the expected price of Tata Blackbird is around Rs 11.00 Lakhs.
Increasing the rear overhang increases the overall length of the car. The length of the wheelbase is increased by 50 mm. In order to maintain a differentiated appearance from Nexon, many changes are made to the exterior of the vehicle, and it will be released with a fresh look and design.
Tata Blackbird will get more bootspace
It is believed to have long doors and a sloping roof, which will give this car a fastback design with ample trunk space. Long rear overhangs provide more legroom for rear passengers. The ICE version of the Nexon coupe is expected to be powered by a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine capable of producing 160 horsepower.
