Royal Enfield is developing a more powerful version of the Meteor 350. It’s called the Super Meteor 650, and as the name suggests, it’s powered by a 650cc grinder from 650 Twins. This isn’t the first time Royal Enfield has used the nickname “Super Meteor”. Previously, this name was used for motorcycles exported to the United States between 1952 and 1962. The manufacturer decided to reuse the name for the new motorcycle. Here are 5 things you need to know about the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Specs

As mentioned above, the Royal Enfield uses the same air-cooled 648cc, fuel-injected, 4-stroke, parallel twin motors on the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The engine has a maximum output of 47hp and a maximum output of 52hp and a maximum torque of Nm. It is mated to a six-speed transmission with slip and assist clutch. Royal Enfield is expected to readjust the engine to suit the characteristics of the cruiser.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Upgraded Hardware

The Super Meteor 650 will be Royal Enfield’s first motorcycle with an inverted fork in the front. At the rear there is still a twin gas filling unit. The braking task is performed by disc brakes from the front and rear. Dual channel ABS is provided. Royal Enfield has moved the location of the rear brake fluid reservoir.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Chassis

Details of the Super Meteor’s chassis are not yet known. Royal Enfield is available with an enhanced version of the Meteor 350 chassis. But it hasn’t been confirmed yet. What has been revealed by the sources is that the Super Meteor 650 will be significantly heavier than the current 650 Twins.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Features

In terms of functionality, the Super Meteor 650 is equipped with LED headlamps and tail lamps. The switchgear will be borrowed from the J platform motorcycle. It has a hazard switch and the instrument cluster is the same as found on the Hunter 350, Meteor 350 and Scram 411. Royal Enfield will also offer Tripper Navigation.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor: Pricing and Availability

Royal Enfield will unveil the Super Meteor at EICMA 2022 on November 8th. The release is expected in December 2022 or January 2023. The Super Meteor 650 will be priced higher than the current 650 Twins.
