Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the most anticipated motorcycle, the Meteor 650, at EICMA 2022 in Milan, Italy. The motorcycle has been officially unveiled and the official launch of the motorcycle is coming soon. The motorcycle is available in two variants. There is a Standard version and Tourer. As the name suggests, the Super Meteor 650 is actually a larger version of the 350cc version that hit the market a few years ago. Like many other Royal Enfield motorcycles, the Meteor 650 also has a neo-retro design. The Meteor 650 is presented as the flagship cruiser of the Indian manufacturer.
Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. said the following about Royal Enfield’s line of cruisers and how their motorcycles are built: Inspired by our own long-distance riding experiences and our customers’ experiences, we’ve created a Super Meteor that is absolutely delightful for all senses. The engine is very sophisticated and responsive, providing a comfortable partial throttle experience at speeds above highway speeds. , riding ergonomics have been fine-tuned to deliver a relaxed yet controllable riding experience, while the overall premium fit finish of parts and materials evokes visual and sensory pleasure. Super Meteor’s colorful silhouettes and outlines are inspired by: A generation of cruisers from Royal Enfield, familiar yet absolutely distinct.”
The motorcycle uses alloy wheels like the Meteor 350. 19-inch wheels at the front and 16-inch increments at the rear. As you go up, the motorcycle gets a USD fork that looks 43mm thick. This is the first time Royal Enfield has used this setup on a motorcycle. The headlamps are again a manufacturer’s first, with all LED units circular. It also comes with a modified instrument cluster and an integrated navigation system. Both front and rear use disc brakes and the motorcycle is equipped with dual channel ABS.
The design of the fuel tank is similar to that seen in other Royal Enfields. The teardrop-shaped tank has a capacity of 15.7 liters. The motorcycle offers a low scallop seat with wide handlebars pulled back. The motorcycle features a front set foot peg that gives the rider an overall comfortable riding position. Royal Enfield notes that the new chassis used in the Super Meteor has a lower center of gravity and helps with high-speed stability and easy maneuverability. The Super Meteor applied to the engine is powered by a 650cc engine from Royal Enfield. This is the same motor that debuted on the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles.
The 648cc parallel twin-cylinder engine produces 47Bhp and 52Nm of maximum torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slip and auxiliary clutches. The standard version of the motorcycle is available in five colors. It will be released in Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Gray and Interstellar Green. There are Tourer variants of the motorcycle available in Celestial Red and Celestial Blue colors. The price of the Super Meteor is expected to range from around Rs 3.5 lakh in all showrooms to Rs 4 lakh in all showrooms.
