Royal Enfield is aggressively updating its lineup for the Indian market and is developing many new bikes that will soon be introduced to India. The brand launched the new Scram 411 a while ago, but is now working on a new Royal Enfield Scram 450 LC that was first spy-tested in India not too long ago.
Here are all the details we know so far about this new Royal Enfield bike. For starters, this new Royal Enfield bike is expected to share a powertrain and foundation with the upcoming Himalayan 450. The new Himalayan 450 will go on sale somewhere in 2023 and will feature a powerful powertrain and better features.
The upcoming Himalayan 450 was also recently spy-tested, and a quick look at the bike tells us that it will boast a split seat setup and a more comfortable riding position. The Scram 450 will also offer a somewhat similar riding position, and the footpeg is centrally mounted to aid in a touring position.
In terms of design, the new Royal Enfield Scram 450 LC will have many similarities to the Himalayan 450. First of all, it has a tail light integrated turn indicator found on the Himalayan 450 and a telescopic fork with gaiters in the front. However, the Scram 450 LC is expected to get smaller alloy wheels.
Powering the new Royal Enfield Scram 450 LC will be a new 450cc water-cooled gasoline engine expected to be mated with a six-speed manual gearbox. However, the maximum power and torque figures are not yet known. The bike will take on rivals like the KTM 390 Adventure, which boasts a maximum output and power figures of 43.5 PS and 37 Nm.
Also, unlike the new Himalayan 450, the Scram 450 LC has conventional telescopic fork suspension at the front and uses smaller tires than its ADV sibling. The bike is expected to go on sale in mid-2023 after the launch of the new Himalayan 450. Royal Enfield Scram 450 LC pricing is expected to start around Rs 2.60 lakh (former showroom).
