The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer’s electric SUV, the Pravaig Defy, was unveiled to the public at the 2023 Auto Expo. This model was priced at Rs 39.5 lakh in the previous showroom. Bookings have already started at Rs 51,000, but deliveries are likely to start from Q3 2023. The electric SUV is designed on a dedicated skateboard platform with a central battery placement. It comes with a dual electric motor setup that returns an output of 407bhp and 620Nm of torque. The electric SUV also has a 5-module lithium-ion battery (90.9 kWh) with 5,000 hard-case shells.
The automaker claims the Defy offers a range of over 500km in real-world conditions. The SUV can be charged via a 150kW DC quick charger or an optional 7.2kW home charger. With a 7.2 kW home charger, it can charge up to 300 km of range in almost 8 hours. The new Pravaig electric SUV benefits from three-level regeneration enabling one-pedal drive and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
The interior of the new Pravaig Defy SUV features sustainable fabrics and vegan leather upholstery. This model features a large 15.6-inch touchscreen display integrated into the dashboard. The device can be used for internet browsing and as a navigation screen with 5G connectivity. It also supports on-board gaming with more games via over-the-air (OTA).
The feature list includes a customizable 10-inch instrument panel, 3D sound from Devialet (a French audio brand), mood lighting, multiple wireless chargers, separate climate control zones for front passengers, unique key cards, and two high-powered USBs. C-port, 360 degree camera, adaptive LED headlamps, 77GHz solid state radar, 6 airbags, automatic emergency braking system and tire pressure monitoring system.
