Passenger Vehicles: A sign of improvement in chip supply, increasing sales

PV Sales: With the improvement in semiconductor supply, companies have increased production ahead of the festival. Due to this, choke sales of passenger vehicles have increased by 11 percent year-on-year in July. According to the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the wholesale sales of the entire passenger vehicle category increased to 2,93,865 units. It was 2,64,442 units in July 2021. Passenger cars’ supply increased by 10 per cent to 1,43,522 units in July.

Sales of two wheelers, three wheelers and vans increased

Vans supply increased from 10,305 units in July 2021 to 13,239 units Wholesale of two wheelers increased by 10 per cent to 13,81,303 units in July from 12,60,140 units in the same month last year. Wholesale sales of three wheelers also jumped to 31,324 units. In July 2021, this figure was of 18, 132 units.

Entry level vehicles keep the pressure at home

Rajesh Menon, general secretary of SIAM, said the market for entry-level passenger cars, two-wheelers and three-wheelers is still not fully recovered. The sales of two wheelers in July 2022 are still lower than in July 2016. At present, the companies have expectations from the festive season. The festive season has started with Raksha Bandhan.
