The one millionth car Magnite flagged off
Japanese car maker Nissan has made a big achievement in India. Nissan has crossed the 1 million vehicle export mark from its plant in Chennai.
The company is exporting its cars made in India to 108 countries.
Celebrating this achievement, Nissan has flagged off its one millionth car, the Magnite SUV. This export from India was started by Nissan in the year 2010.
Exports started with Nissan Micra
Nissan Motor started exporting vehicles from India with its hatchback car Micra. This brought good success to the company and within just three years, three lakh units of this small hatchback car were shipped out.
Till the year 2017, the Micra was Nissan’s most exported model outside India. Apart from this, the demand for Sunny, Datsun GO, Datsun GO+ and Datsun RediGo was also high.
Magnite is Nissan’s most successful car
Currently, Nissan Motor is selling only two SUVs (Kicks and Magnite) and one sports car (GT-R) in India.
The Nissan Magnite has proved to be the company’s most successful car. The company has also recently launched its Red Edition.
It has been launched in three variants – Magnite XV MT Red Edition, Magnite Turbo XV MT Red Edition and Magnite Turbo XV CVT Red Edition.
What are the current prices of Nissan cars?
Nissan’s bestselling compact SUV Magnite has an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.97 lakh for the base variant and Rs 10.37 lakh for the top variant.
The price of Magnite Red Edition ranges from Rs 7.87 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh. It competes with the Kia Sonet, Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon.
The ex-showroom prices of the Nissan Kicks start from Rs 9.49 lakh and go up to Rs 14.90 lakh.
In April this year, Nissan discontinued its affordable car brand ‘Datsun’ from India. The company had sold entry level cars in the country under this brand for nine years.
