The next few months will be a very exciting period for the Indian auto industry as several new product launches are planned. In addition to this, the Delhi Auto Expo will be reopened in January 2023. India’s largest passenger car manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, will be launching two new SUVs as well as showcasing a range of new and updated models at the car event. Here are some key details about the next major launches of Maruti and Hyundai.
Upcoming New Maruti SUV
Maruti Baleno Cross (codename YTB) is the first brand crosshatch in Korea. The model is expected to hit the market in February after making its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2023. It will be a Nexa product that will challenge cars like the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Citroen C3. According to reports, the Baleno Cross marks the return of Maruti’s 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol engine that powered the Baleno RS. This time the motor meets BS6 emission standards. Motors can benefit from mild hybrid technology. Maruti’s new compact SUV could also be equipped with a 1.2L dual-jet engine. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available.
Upcoming New Hyundai SUV
The Korean automaker is poised to launch the Hyundai Creta facelift in early 2023. The updated model of the SUV will be unveiled for the first time in India at the Delhi Auto Expo. Most of the design changes are visible on the front end. The facelifted Creta features a new Tucson-inspired parametric grille, a differently designed DRL and slightly relocated headlamps. At the rear, there are slimmer taillamps, a tuned bumper and a redesigned trunk lid. In terms of functionality, the 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift will be updated with a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and Hyundai’s Blue Link Connected Car technology. The biggest upgrade comes in the form of Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) safety technology. No changes are expected under the hood.
