Maruti to launch Baleno in new SUV style, see photos and features

After the launch of the 2022 Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki will also bring a new coupe SUV, codenamed YTB. According to the reports it Maruti Baleno Cross can be named. Some pictures of this upcoming SUV have been leaked.

New Maruti Baleno Cross Design

The Baleno Cross is the production version of the Futuro-e concept showcased at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Although it has been covered in its leaked pictures, but still its design details are revealed to a great extent. The DRLs and headlights are similar to the recently introduced Grand Vitara.

New Maruti Baleno Cross Platform and Engine

The new SUV-coupe will be based on Maruti’s HEARTECT platform. It will be powered by Suzuki’s 1-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. The same engine was also offered with the Baleno RS, which has now been discontinued. According to reports, a 48v mild-hybrid system can be used in it for better mileage. With this, the option of manual and automatic transmission will be available. At present, there is no information available about its dimensions and power output.

When will the new Maruti Baleno Cross be launched?

According to reports, the new Maruti Baleno Cross will make its global debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023 in January. After this the SUV can be launched in February or March 2023. In the Maruti line-up, it will come over the Baleno hatchback. At the same time, it will be sold through Maruti’s NEXA line-up dealership. Also, like the Grand Vitara and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Toyota may launch its own version.
