Maruti Suzuki’s 3 most awaited cars to be launched at Auto Expo 2023

Maruti Suzuki launched two new SUVs in Korea this year: the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. MSIL launched the new Baleno, Celerio and Alto K10 in the first nine months of 2022, as well as a new SUV. Maruti Suzuki will unveil a new Valeno-based crossover based on the new Toyota Innova Hicross, a 5-door Jimny and a new C-segment MPV at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. The new SUV coupe, dubbed the YTB internally, is based on the lightweight HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno. As well as the platform, the new crossover shares interiors and features with Baleno & Brezza.

The new Maruti Baleno crossover is sold exclusively through the NEXA premium dealer network. It is sold alongside Brezza and will compete with Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonnet and Tata Nexon. The new model is powered by a 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbo gasoline engine that generates 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. It can also be equipped with a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine with manual and AMT gearboxes.

MSIL will present its new 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV at Auto Expo in 2023. Compared to the Sierra, the new model has a 300mm longer wheelbase and a 300mm longer SUV. The new model offers a more practical cabin and more trunk space compared to the three-door model. It will compete against Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.

The 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny is powered by the new 1.5-liter K15C naturally aspirated gasoline with a mild hybrid setup. This engine can generate 101bhp and 137Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. The new Jimny 5-door is equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro AWD setup, the most capable version of Suzuki’s AllGrip technology.

Toyota will launch the new Innova Hycross MPV in Indonesia in November 2022. Interestingly, MSIL is also preparing its own version of the Innova Hycross MPV. The new model will receive design changes and a new color scheme in the interior. It is produced at the Toyota Vidadi plant. The new MPV is based on a new monocoque platform with all-wheel drive setup. Two engine options are available: 2.0L gasoline and 2.0L gasoline hybrid. Companies can use a localized version of the Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II) configured with a twin-motor setup for high ‘step-off’ torque and fuel economy.
