Maruti Suzuki has several new models planned to strengthen the SUV market over the next few years. In addition to this, the Indian-Japanese automaker will bring a new MPV based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. The latter will make a world debut in November and launch in India in January 2023. The new Maruti MPV is expected to hit the road in the second half of 2023. Interestingly, this model will be the first badge change model for Toyota’s Maruti Suzuki.

As a premium product, the new Maruti MPV will be sold through the Nexa dealer network. It has an edge over the Ertiga in terms of price and positioning and will face the challenges of the Kia Carens and the upcoming Hyundai Stargazer and Toyota’s new C-segment MPV. Maruti’s new three-row MPV will be designed based on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and will come with two powertrains: naturally aspirated gasoline and a powerful hybrid.

The upcoming Toyota Innova HyCross will likely include a localized hybrid system. Unlike the existing Innova with RWD setting, the new model is equipped with a FWD (front-wheel drive) system. The new Maruti MPV shares most design elements, features and components with the Innova HyCross. However, it may feature a differently designed front grille, bumper and headlamps. There may be slight changes to the rear part as well.

The interior of Maruti’s new C-segment MPV could be similar to the newly launched Grand Vitara and Hyryder SUVs. Leather steering wheel, 360-degree camera, sunroof, digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, Suzuki Connected Car function, wireless charger, SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, ambient door lights, multiple airbags, rear parking camera and cruise control.

Details of the upcoming new Maruti Suzuki MPV will be revealed in the near future.
