Maruti Suzuki will launch the Grand Vitara hybrid SUV in the Indian market in 2022. The company has already started a media test drive of the SUV ahead of its official launch. Last week the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder was launched in India, where only the price of a powerful hybrid variant was revealed. Previous reports and the launch of the Toyota Hyryder provide insight into the estimated price of the Grand Vitara and other features.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Estimated Price
Looking at the Toyota Hyryder pricing, we expect the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara to be more price competitive compared to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Grand Vitara SUV, which will be launched next week, will be priced at Rs 10 lakh – Rs 18 lakh (excluding showrooms).
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be available in 7 variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Alpha AWD, Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Exterior details
Featuring a typical SUV silhouette and sculpted hood, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara received LED headlamps with split DRL, a black chrome finish grille and skid plate with Suzuki badges. The side profile is flanked by black painted posts, 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. At the rear there is an LED tail lamp connected to a shark fin antenna.

When it comes to interior, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara offers a number of features such as a heads-up display, a 9.0-inch infotainment panel with the latest connectivity options, a semi-digital instrument cluster and airy front seats. It also features ambient lighting, a multifunction steering wheel, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof and automatic climate control.
The Grand Vitara’s safety suite consists of six airbags, a 360-degree view camera and an ESP.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Powertrain and Specifications
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is powered by a powerful hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle power plant and an electric motor and battery pack, producing a maximum output of 114bhp and maximum torque. 122 Nm each. An e-CVT transmission is provided. The mild-hybrid powertrain uses a 1.5-liter NA gasoline engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology, producing a cumulative output of 101bhp and 136Nm of torque.
5-speed MT and 6-speed AT are available. This motor is also available in an optional AWD layout with a manual gearbox. The Grand Vitara AWD trim is available in four driving modes: Sport, Snow, Auto, and Lock.
