Maruti Suzuki has removed the curtain from the Grand Vitara SUV. The company has confirmed that the new Grand Vitara will be launched in India in September 2022. The production of this new SUV will begin in August at Toyota’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka. At the same time, before the Grand Vitara, Toyota will launch the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV in August 2022.

Variants and Features of Maruti Grand Vitara
The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will come in 6 variants. These include Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alfa with Smart Hybrid Technology, Zeta+ and Alpha+ with Intelligent Hybrid Engine. The SUV is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, full digital instrument console, ambient lighting, connected car technology with Google and Siri voice assist, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats.
Engine of Maruti Grand Vitara
Toyota’s 3-cylinder 1.5-liter engine has been given in the intelligent hybrid variant of Vitara. It is connected to a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. With this, the option of e-CVT transmission is available. It has also been offered with the global Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid.
Apart from this, it also comes with 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine option. It is mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter transmission option.
Mileage of Maruti Grand Vitara
The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the most fuel efficient model in the SUV segment. The electric hybrid model of the SUV is claimed to get a mileage of 27.97kmpl (ARAI certified). At the same time, the standard petrol model with its mild hybrid technology gives a mileage of 21.11kmpl with manual gearbox. Apart from this, the company has claimed that the automatic front wheel drive model of Vitara gives 20.58kmpl mileage. Along with this, 19.38kmpl mileage has been claimed in the manual all-wheel-drive model.
Maruti Grand Vitara Price
Although the price of the Maruti Grand Vitara will be announced at the time of launch, but according to the leaks, its starting price can be Rs 9.50 lakh. At the same time, its top model can go up to Rs 20 lakh. These prices will be according to the ex-showroom. After the launch, the new Maruti compact SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
