Mahindra Alturas G4 SUV’s 4WD variant price decreases, now a new 2WD variant will be available

Mahindra Alturas G4 is equipped with nine airbags

Domestic automaker Mahindra has launched the ‘2WD High’ variant of the Alturas G4 SUV in India. This new variant replaces the existing ‘4WD’ (four-wheel drive) model. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 30.68 lakh.

Only the all-wheel-drive system has changed in the updated SUV as compared to the current trim. No change has been made in its design, features and mechanical parts.

What is the specialty of this car?

The Alturas G4 is actually a rebadged version of the second generation Ssangyong Rexton in the global market.

The SUV was first introduced by Mahindra at the Auto Expo 2018 and was placed above the XUV500 in the brand’s portfolio.

The car has achieved a top five-star safety rating in the Korean New Car Assessment Program (K-NCAP) crash test.

This car is present in India with ADAS technology.


Mahindra Alturas G4 SUV gets roof rails and LED taillights

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is a solid looking SUV, with a tall and sculpted bonnet, chrome-finished grille, swept-back projector headlamps, skid plates, a raked windscreen and a wide air dam.

It gets roof rails on the sides, auto fold ORVMs, flared wheel arches with black cladding on the doors and designer alloy wheels.

The rear end gets wrap-around LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler.

This SUV gets 178hp engine

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is powered by a 2.2-litre inline four-cylinder diesel engine that makes a maximum power of 178hp and peak torque of 420Nm. It is mated to a 7-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox sourced from Mercedes-Benz.

Nine airbags are available in Mahindra Alturas

The interiors of the Alturas G4 get a large seven-seater cabin. It gets ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a sunroof, rear AC vents with auto climate control and a multifunction steering wheel.

The SUV gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment console with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.

For the safety of the passengers, the car is offered with modern amenities like nine airbags, ABS with EBD and ADAS.

What is the new price of Mahindra Alturas G4?

Mahindra Alturas G4 is now available in only one variant in India. Its new price is now Rs 30.68 lakh ex-showroom. The SUV can be booked online or through the company’s dealerships across the country.

Outfable information

Recently Mahindra has increased the prices of its XUV700 and Thar for the third time this year. The company had also increased the prices of these SUVs in January and April.

Now select variants of the XUV700 have become expensive by up to Rs 37,000, while the prices of Thar have been increased by up to Rs 28,000.

The long waiting period of two years and now the price hike is likely to reduce their sales.
