JLR Electric: 60 percent of Land Rover sales will be EV by 2030

JLR Electric VehicleLuxury car maker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) believes that by 2030, sales of purely electric variants will account for 60 percent of the total sales of its brand Land Rover globally.

Tata Motors-owned JLR plans to add six purely electric variants to its Land Rover portfolio. It will start from the year 2024. The British automaker has already confirmed that it will be adding a purely electric Range Rover to its product line-up in 2024.

The company’s annual report for 2021-22 states that Land Rover will be joined by six fully electric variants in the next four years. The report said that with this move, the company will be able to adapt itself to the change in policy stance. Apart from this, it will also be able to meet the increasing demand of electric vehicles of consumers.

In its report addressed to the shareholders, the company has said that the acceptance of electric vehicles is increasing. We estimate that by 2030, 60 percent of Land Rover sales globally will be purely electric. JLR said that work is also underway on the development of the electric Jaguar. The company said, for the past 12 months, our Jaguar team has been working towards the development of a purely electric Jaguar.
