Mahindra and Toyota August Sales Report
Mahindra and Toyota, the giants that bring one-of-a-kind cars to the Indian market, have released their sales report for the month of August.
Both these companies have got growth in all types of vehicle segment, passenger and commercial. Mahindra has secured the fourth position this month and Toyota the sixth in terms of car sales.
Both these companies are going to launch their new SUVs very soon. Mahindra will introduce its XUV400 next week.
How were the sales of these two companies?
Mahindra has registered a tremendous growth of about 87 percent in passenger vehicle sales this year as compared to August last year. The company has sold 29,516 units this August, up from 15,973 units a year ago.
Toyota this August has registered a growth of 17.12 per cent over last year. In August last year, the company had sold 12,772 units, which increased to 14,959 units this year.
How were their sales compared to July?
Month-on-month sales of these companies have registered slight changes. Toyota has registered a decline in it, while Mahindra has increased it.
In August this year, Toyota’s sales were down by 6,921 units as compared to July. In July, this figure was of sales of 19,693 units.
Mahindra has sold 1,799 units more cars in August as compared to July. In July, this sale stood at 28,053 units.
Waiting period of two years on Mahindra cars
The demand for Mahindra’s SUVs is increasing in the market. The company’s bestselling cars are XUV700, Scorpio, Thar, Bolero, XUV300, etc.
Deliveries of the new generation Scorpio-N will begin later this month, with Mahindra already having around 2.5 lakh orders.
With Mahindra having more orders, its new cars are being given a waiting period of up to 2 years for delivery to the customers.
September is an important month for Toyota India. All eyes are now set on the launch of the automaker’s upcoming SUV self-charging hybrid urban cruiser HighRadar. The coming festive season can prove to be important for the automakers.
Apart from this, Toyota is also bringing its new hybrid Innova Crysta. Hence the company has stopped accepting new bookings for its diesel variants.
