In India, the Force Gurkha is known as a competitor to the Mahindra Thar. However, it is still behind Thar in many respects. In view of this, the company is preparing to bring a better version of this 4X4 SUV soon.
At present, the Force Gurkha only comes in a 3-door version. It is available with a single diesel engine option and a 5-speed manual gearbox. With this, the option of petrol engine or automatic transmission is not available. There is also no option of convertible roof. Whereas all these features are available in Mahindra Thar. It is the SUV that has made the lifestyle off-roader segment popular again.
To keep the competition alive, Force Motors is gearing up to launch a 5-door 9-seat version of the Gurkha. Its upcoming model has been spotted recently.
Force Gurkha 5 Door SUV
The 3-door Gurkha measures 4116mm in length, 1812mm in width and 2075mm in height. At the same time, its wheelbase is 2400 mm and ground clearance is 205 mm. One more row will be added for seating in the upcoming Gurkha 5-Door SUV. In such a situation, its length will increase as well as the width is also expected to increase. The Gurkha 5-door was spotted earlier as well, but that testing model had captain seats in the third row. The new spy shots reveal the side-facing jump seats.
Features of Force Gurkha
On the outside, it gets circular LED DRLs around the headlights, bonnet-mounted indicators, boot-mounted spare wheel, rear washer-wipers, a snorkel, roof-mounted carrier and more. Talking about the cabin, the Gurkha gets powered windows at the front. It also gets an aftermarket Kenwood infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Engine of Force Gurkha
The Force Gurkha gets a 2.6L turbo-diesel engine. It generates 90bhp power at 3200rpm and 250Nm torque at 1400rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Force Gurkha 5 Door Price
The Force Gurkha 3-door was launched in September 2021 for Rs 13.59 lakh. After this, the price of Gurkha was increased by Rs 51,000 to Rs 14.10 lakh in January 2022. After this, once again Force Motors increased the prices by Rs 39,000 in April taking its price to Rs 14.49 lakh (all, ex-showroom). We expect the Gurkha 5-door to cost around Rs. 1 lakh more than the 3-door model.
