Toyota Kirloskar Motors looks set to launch a CNG version of its Glanza premium hatchback in the coming weeks. Specifications and variant details leaked on the web before they hit the market. According to leaked documents, the Toyota Glanza CNG will be offered in three variants: S, G and V. All models are equipped with a 1.2L, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The setup gives a claimed power of 76bhp at 6,000rpm. Only 5-speed manual transmission is installed.
The overall length, width and height remain unchanged. The Toyota Glanza CNG is 3990mm long, 1745mm wide, 1500mm high (unloaded) and has a wheelbase of 2520mm. All three CNG variants of the hatchback have a GVW of 1450 kg. The leaked documents don’t mention mileage, but previously leaked data showed it would return a fuel economy of 25 km/kg.
In terms of features, the Glanza CNG V variant comes with the same set of gear, including a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Cast Pro S features and over-the-air (OTA) audio updates, an Arkamys audio system, and 360-degree rotation. Parking camera, self-folding wing mirrors, auto-dimming interior rearview mirrors, leather-wrapped steering, cruise control, UV protection glass, LED DRL and LED fog lights.
In another update, the company will soon introduce the Toyota Camry sedan with a flex fuel option on September 28, 2022. Information provided by Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Traffic and Highways Association. Specifications for Toyota Camry flex fuel are not yet known. For those who don’t know, flex-fuel powertrains have an internal combustion engine (ICE) and can run on one fuel or a mixed fuel. It is usually a mixture of gasoline and ethanol or methanol. This powertrain can also run on 100% gasoline or ethanol.
