The new Scorpio Classic will be unveiled soon
Mahindra’s Scorpio-N has finally been launched. After the launch of this new model last month, the company will soon launch its existing Scorpio as ‘Scorpio Classic’ with some changes.
The Scorpio Classic has been spotted many times and now some information related to it has also been revealed.
Its current model is well-liked by the customers. Hence Mahindra continues to sell both the models.
Popularity of Mahindra Scorpio
The popularity of the current model of Scorpio can be gauged from the fact that even after the launch of the new model, the demand for its old model continues.
Mahindra managed to sell 4,131 units of the old model even after the official announcement of the Scorpio-N in June.
Mahindra has launched the Scorpio-N in the market keeping in view the increasing demand for SUVs with premium as well as luxury features like Tata Safari and Toyota Fortuner.
Scorpio Classic will come with a new logo
Media reports related to Mahindra Scorpio Classic have revealed many things about the interior and exterior of this car.
The most new thing that will be seen in its look is the new logo of Mahindra. Apart from this, it will also get some more new things like projector headlights, LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels with new design, new front grille, front bumper and side cladding with some minor changes.
Will get 2.2 liter diesel engine
The Scorpio Classic will get its signature seven-seat arrangement (two side seats in the third row). In the Scorpio-N, the company has given a three-person front facing seat in the third row.
Both these variants will only get the option of a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which is available in the base diesel variant of the Scorpio-N.
This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, which will be able to generate 120bhp power and 280Nm torque.
What will be its price?
The new Classic model will no longer get the option of all wheel drive and automatic gearbox like the current model.
It is worth noting that in the new Scorpio-N, buyers have been given the option of a petrol engine, whose price starts from Rs 11.99 lakh. It will not be available in the Classic model.
The Scorpio Classic will be priced lower than the Scorpio-N. It is being speculated that Mahindra can start its prices from Rs 10 lakh.
