Citroen C3 hatchback will soon come in electric avatar, to compete with Tata Tigor EV

Citroen C3 hatchback has been recently launched in India. This is the company’s smallest and most affordable car for the Indian market. The C3 is based on the local common modular platform and is compatible with multiple powertrains including electric. It is expected that Citroen will soon bring an electric version of this car as well.

Actually Citroen is making an electric car based on its C3 hatchback. According to reports, the new Citroen C3 Electric can be introduced by December 2022.

Citroen C3 Electric Battery Pack and Range

Currently, the Peugeot e-208 is built on the CMP modular platform. Available in Europe, this car has a battery pack of 50kWh. It generates 136PS of power and 260Nm of peak torque. The company claims that this car can give a range of up to 362km. It is expected that the same battery pack can be found in the upcoming Citroen C3 Electric as well.

Citroen may also offer multiple battery size options with the new C3 Electric. The entry-level electric car is expected to get a mini battery pack with a range of around 300 kms.

Features of Citroen C3 Electric

Apart from this, the upcoming Citroen C3 Electric is also expected to be brought as a more premium version of the C3 hatchback. It may come with more basic features than the regular model. According to reports, the upcoming EV is expected to get automatic AC, rear wiper and washer, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger and cruise control. The Lava Citroen may also make some EV-specific design changes.

Citroen C3 Electric Launched

The new C3 electric car is expected to be launched by April 2023. According to reports, the price of the new model can be around Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Citroen C3 Electric will compete with the Tata Tigor EV and the upcoming MG entry-level electric car. Along with this, it can also compete with the Tata Nexon EV Prime, which is currently the best-selling electric model in India.
