At the same time, its Grand Vitara is to be launched this month. After this the company is going to bring another new SUV, which will be based on Baleno. In terms of pricing, this Baleno SUV will lie between the new Brezza and the Grand Vitara. After launch, this Maruti SUV will compete with Tata Punch and Nisaan Magnite.
The silhouette and raked rear windshield angles of the upcoming Maruti Baleno Cross and other spotted cars are almost identical. They also have a similar profile and square-off wheel arch. On the other hand, the front fascia is similar to the new Grand Vitara, which includes features like low-set headlamps, top mounted LED DRL and teprozoid grille with chrome accents.
Size of Maruti Baleno Cross
At present, the dimensional details of Baleno Cross have not been revealed, but its length can be 4.2 meters. So, the Baleno Cross will be based on the Toyota Yaris Cross in the global market, which is 4,200 mm long, 1765 mm wide, 1590 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2560 mm. Yaris Cross is built on the TNGA platform. According to reports, the Baleno Cross SUV will be built on Toyota’s DNGA-A platform, which has a wheelbase of 2,525 mm. Cars like Toyota Raize, Daihatsu Rocky and Peroduva Ativa that use this platform are less than 4 meters in length.
Features of Maruti Baleno Cross
Like the Maruti Grand Vitara, the Baleno Cross is also expected to get a host of features. Some of the highlights may include free standing touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, wireless charger, mood lights, sunroof and automatic climate control. Apart from this, connectivity features like live vehicle tracking, remote access and control, geo fencing, locating sharing can be provided in the car.
Engine of Maruti Baleno Cross
The 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol motor can be given in the upcoming Maruti crossover. With this, the SUV is expected to get a mild-hybrid powertrain. The Baleno Cross will come with both manual and automatic transmission options.
