Auto sector hopes from festive season, sales will increase due to increase in production and new launches

Car Sales In Festive Season: The auto industry expects that this festive season with new launches and increased production, the sales of cars will be faster. However, the industry is cautiously optimistic about business post festivals. Automobile sales generally increase during the festive season. This year the festive season will start from Raksha Bandhan on 11th August and will continue till Diwali on 25th October.

Vinkesh Gulati, President, Automobile Dealers’ Body, said, “We expect the festive season to be the best for passenger vehicle sales this year due to new offerings and better production activities.” On an average, the industry is producing more than three lakh units in the last 4-5 months, he said. This has helped the retailers.

Asked about some of the challenges ahead in the coming days, he referred to an uncertain monsoon in some parts of the country, inflationary pressures and the imminent threat of a Sino-Taiwan war. FADA represents over 15,000 automobile dealers across the country. According to Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India, there are indications that the supply chain issues are now easing and the market sentiment remains bullish.

Tata Motors President (Passenger Vehicles and Electric Vehicles) Shailesh Chandra said that the company is not worried about customer demand till the end of the festive season. He said that the company expects improvement in vehicle delivery with better semiconductor availability in the second quarter. He also added that higher inflation and interest rates could affect auto demand, although there is no tension in the second quarter.
