  • Mahindra Thar 2WD

Mahindra will likely launch an entry-level 2WD version of the Thar this month, and variant details have already leaked online.

The Thar 4×2 comes with two engine options. It includes a 2.0-liter turbo petrol unit generating 150 BHP and 320 Nm, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and a 1.5-liter diesel generating 117 BHP and 300 Nm. The latter comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.

  • MG Hector Facelift

MG has announced that the Hector facelift will be officially unveiled in India on 5 January 2023.

The new Hector is mechanically identical to the outgoing model. It will continue to use the same 2.0-liter diesel, 1.5-liter turbo petrol and 1.5-liter mild-hybrid powertrains.

  • Hyundai Ionic 5

Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 5 with Indian specifications at a recent event. Reservations for the new EV have started and customers can place an order by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.

Hyundai will provide a large battery pack and rear-mounted electric motor with an ARAI-certified range of 631 km in India. The Ioniq 5 also supports 800V fast charging, allowing the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes.

  • BMW X1

Some BMW dealers in Korea have started accepting pre-orders for the next-generation X1. The dealer charges a reservation amount of Rs 50,000. The next-generation BMW X1 will be launched on 28 January 2023 at the third BMW Joytown festival in Bangalore. Shipping may begin in March.

  • BMW 7 Series & i7

The next-generation BMW 7 series and i7 electric limousine will be launched in India on 7 January 2023. The vehicles will be showcased at Joytown in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.

Worldwide, the new 7 Series is available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains ranging from a 3.0-liter turbo petrol to a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8.

The BMW i7 is a pure electric version of the 7 series. It comes in an xDrive60 variant packing a 101.7 kWh battery pack.

  • Mercedes-AMG E53 Cabriolet

Mercedes-Benz is reportedly preparing to launch a new high-performance convertible in India. According to reports, the AMG E53 Cabriolet will be available on January 6, 2023.

The E53 Cabriolet uses a 3.0-liter turbo petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. It develops 429 BHP and 520 Nm and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system.

  • Next Generation Kia Carnival & Sorento

Kia Motors plans to unveil the next-generation Carnival in India next month. The MPV will be included in the Kia Motors Auto Expo 2023 lineup along with the Sorento SUV.

The Sorento is essentially Kia’s version of the Hyundai Santa Fe. Seven-seater SUV available as a plug-in hybrid with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol or 2.2-litre diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology.

  • Tata Safari Facelift

The Tata Safari facelift has been seen several times. The updated SUV is expected to gain a number of new features and will be unveiled at the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo.

The new Tata Safari will inherit the same 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 168 BHP and 350 Nm and will be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
