He gave this information in written reply to the questions of Keshari Devi Patel and Kanakamal Katara in Lok Sabha.

The minister said, the telecom service providers are likely to launch 5G mobile services during the financial year 2022-23. Replying to another question, Vaishnav also informed that DoT has given permission to Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited to start 5G technology trials with ‘C-DOT’.

The date for the auction of 5G spectrum is approaching. This time, not only telecom companies but other players are also participating in the spectrum auction. The most talked about in this list is Adani Data Networks of billionaire Gautam Adani. Adani Data Networks will also participate in the 5G spectrum auction along with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.

Billionaire Gautam Adani-led Adani Data Networks, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have applied to participate in the upcoming 5G auction. Industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has deposited an advance amount (EMD) of Rs 14,000 crore before the auction of high-speed 5G spectrum begins. At the same time, the Adani group has deposited Rs 100 crore.
