According to John Tarduno, Professor of Geophysics at the University of Rochester in New York, Earth’s magnetosphere was on the verge of a complete collapse before life began on our planet. Studies have shown that at the beginning of the Cambrian period, 55 million years ago, our planet’s magnetic field was about to end completely. It took the earth one and a half million years to restore it again. According to the study, its magnetic field was ending before Earth’s inner core developed. As the inner core evolved, the magnetic field also regenerated. Had it not been revived, life on earth would not have been possible today.
This study has been published in Nature Communications. Many interesting things related to the history of the Earth have been shared in the study, which shows that there is no life on our planet. This too would have been an uninhabited area like the rest of the planets. The study suggests that if our planet’s magnetic field had also ended, Earth’s water would have dried up. Just like the water of Mars dried up and it became a barren planet. Researchers believe that Mars also once had a magnetic field. After that, Mars completely dried up and became deserted.
However, scientists have not been able to know what caused the Earth’s magnetic field to end and how it was restored. The study suggests that the planet may have regained its magnetic field due to molten iron 28 thousand kilometers below Earth’s surface. Otherwise, our planet would have dried up due to dangerous winds coming from the Sun. There would have been a lot of radiation here and there would be no existence of life on earth.
