2023 Hyundai i20 Facelift features revealed in a testing on Indian roads

Hyundai launched the 3rd generation i20 hatchback in the Indian market at the end of 2020. Compete against Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altoz. To further strengthen the i20 nameplate, Hyundai launched a new i20 N-Line variant in the country in 2021. Interestingly, Hyundai started testing the first witnessed i20 facelift. The 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift was caught testing in Korea.

The 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to be released sometime next year. The new i20 is expected to hit the market shortly after its global debut. The test mule was completely covered with thick cloth and there were no significant changes. The hatchback’s overall rear profile looks identical to its predecessor. Expect to receive new tail lights and modified reflectors.

The front profile is not shown in the spy image. It looks like there will be major changes to the front profile. Bumpers, grilles and headlamps with LED DRL are expected to be modified. In fact, the wheel design looks very similar to the previous model. The new model is expected to receive major changes in the interior.

The outgoing model comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a semi-digital instrument cluster with Connected Car technology. In terms of safety features, the hatchback comes with six airbags, a rear view camera and parking sensors, as well as electronic stability control. The new model with a mid-aged facelift comes with ventilated front seats and rear disc brakes.

Hyundai Motor Company announced that it will introduce Tucson’s ADAS technology to its existing models. The top-end model of the 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift will also receive some ADAS features. However, the price of hatchbacks will increase significantly. Diesel engine option will not be offered for Indian spec models as more stringent RDE (Actual Emission Emissions) standards will be introduced from 1 April 2023. Two engine options, the 1.2L NA, are still available. gasoline and 1.0L turbo gasoline.
