Uttar Pradesh: Around eight people were declared dead and many injured in a big collision between bus and a truck


Lakhimpur Kheri: On Wednesday, a private bus and a small truck collided head-on in Rahimpur Kerry, Uttar Pradesh, killing eight people and injuring 14 others, police said. In his condolences for the accident, Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to adequately treat the wounded.

“Chief Minister Shri @myogiadityanath Ji Maharaj has condoled the loss of lives due to road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri district,” was written in CM’s office tweet .

“Maharaj Ji has directed the senior officers to immediately go to the spot and conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing and make proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured,” was also written.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Pritam Pal Singh said the bus collided with a small truck coming from the opposite direction at the Aira Bridge on national highway 730 on its way from Dhaurhara to Lucknow.

He said the tolls are likely to go up.”

Police said they arrived at the scene after receiving a report, cut the bus with a gas cutter and rescued the injured. DSP has taken the injured to a local hospital and said they are working to identify the dead.

According to a spokesman for the state government of Lucknow, the prime minister paid his condolences to the deceased and offered his condolences to the families of the deceased.

The spokesperson added that the order had been issued to carry out relief operations in this conditions.
