A black stone known as “shaligram shila” from Nepal’s Kali Gandaki river will arrive in Ayodhya next month to Hindus for carving an idol of Lord Ram in the inner sanctuary of Ram Mandir. It is planned to be built in a city that many believe to be the birthplace of Ram Mandir. Ramayana, said those who know the matter.
The Shaligram stone found on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River in the Muktinath region of Nepal is considered to represent Vishnu. Ram is considered an incarnation of Vishnu.
A delegation from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad arrived in Nepal to bring the sacred stone. According to the Temple Trust, former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal Bilmalendra Nidhi will accompany the VHP delegation to return to India with Shaligram Shila. Meetings will continue on Sunday.
The delegation will arrive in Gorakhpur on 1 February and will be staying at the Gorakhnath Temple, where Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh is the chief priest. We are due to arrive in Ayodhya on February 2nd. -Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s responsibility was reported to have spoken at PTI.
“These 60 million year old Shaligram rocks will arrive in Ayodhya from Nepal in two different trucks. One rock is 26 tons and the other is 14 tons,” he said.
Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust tied a famous sculptor to make an idol of Lord Ram as a child also known as Ram lala for the temple. According to the Trust Secretary-General Champat Rai, the height of the idol will be about 8.5 feet to allow the sun’s rays to fall on the deity.
Celebrations in Ayodhya for the opening of the Ram temple start in December and end with the installation of idols in the inner sanctum on the auspicious Makar Sankranti ceremony on 14 or 15 January 2024.
