Noida may soon get elevated road between Rajnigandha chowk and sector 56

On Monday, Noida authorities said they were considering a proposal to build an elevated road from Rajnigandha Chowk (intersection of sectors 19/2-19/3) to sector 12/22 and sector 56 t-point. Once it’s removed it can solve the traffic congestion problem here.

Authorities had planned to build the road in 2015, but the plan was abandoned because work could not be started on the site, officials said.

“We are considering proposals to take action to address the city’s traffic congestion problem. Once the overpass project is approved, we will start working on the site,” said Noida Authority Additional CEO Manvendra Singh.

When the proposed overpass is built, traffic signals will be removed at the Sector 19/21 Junction, Sector 10/21 Junction, Noida Stadium and Sector 12/22 Junction to reduce congestion on these sections.

The authorities’ working party has begun preparing proposals for the overpass. Once approved in the working world, it is vetted and approved by the Noida Authority’s Chief Executive Officer. If approved, an estimate will be made and approved for 4.8 km of overpass. Authorities will then issue tenders for the project to hire contractors, officials said.

Authorities are likely to approve the project in the next four to five months, officials said.
