Another metro-related accident has occurred in the Karnataka capital, Bengaluru. However, the people in the car were unharmed. This is the third incident that occurred at the subway construction site in the past 15 days.
The vehicle, driven by Bengaluru resident Santosh Kumar, was en route past Karthik Nagar towards KR Puram and was at the Doddanekundi junction when a barricade fell over it, news agency ANI reported. Kumar was on his way home with his family, who all escaped unharmed.
Representatives of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) visited the scene to investigate the accident, sources told ANI.
In the first case, a woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old son died when a subway pole under construction collapsed. The woman’s husband and daughter escaped with injuries. The tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru’s Nagawara district, where the Namma Metro connects to the city’s Kempegowda International Airport.
In the second case, a cyclist was injured after a huge pothole opened on Brigade Road in Bengaluru, near a Metro construction site. Police closed off the potholes and diverted traffic around the potholes.
