Bengaluru will have another Vande Bharat Express train

Karnataka will use another Vande Bharat train, this time on the Kacheguda-Bengaluru route, the carrier, with two trains assigned to operate in South India from Secunderabad in Telangana to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and Pune in Maharashtra. PTI reported.

Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are all set for parliamentary voting.

South India got its first Vande Bharat train along the Mysuru-Bengaluru-Chennai route, marked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November. Another Vande Bharat train has been proposed by South Western Railway (SWR) between Bengaluru and Hubbali in Karnataka.

The Vande Bharat train has been praised in several quarters for its speed, comfort and “airplane-like” features, but has become controversial after several cattle-related accidents and stone-throwing incidents.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first Vande Bharat Express of the year on 15 January, linking Secunderabad in Telangana with Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It is the 8th Vande Bharat Express in the country and has been operating at 100% occupancy since opening.

The Ministry of Railways aims to have 75 Vande Bharat trains running by the end of this year and 400 over the next three years. The Vande Bharat Express train is a semi-high speed train and is built under the Centre’s signature Make-in-India initiative.
