Bengaluru tech park to get a direct metro rail access


A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Bengaluru’s Namma Metro and ITPL (Information Technology Park Limited) for direct access to the metro line at a technology park located near Whitefield, the Metro Department announced. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has also announced that once the metro starts operating on the Baiyappanahalli-Whitefield line, a passage will be built to connect the Pattandur Agrahara metro station to the Tech Park.

“Today (January 17), a memorandum of understanding was signed between Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and Information Technology Park Limited (ITPL) to provide direct access from the concourse level at Pattandur Agrahara,” BMRCL said in a statement on Tuesday. from the metro station to the Bengaluru International Tech Park (ITPB).”

Under the MoU, the design of this sidewalk has been approved by BMRCL, but ITPL will undertake the construction. This is said to be the first contract for the most awaited Baiyappanahalli-Whitefield line, which is expected to help around 55,000 employees working in the technology park.

“Building the access infrastructure will be done by ITPL according to the design approved by BMRCL. This will allow the more than 55,000 employees who work on campus to access their offices directly from the subway station without having to cross the street.”

A trial run between KR Puram and the Whitefield Line has already taken place and will begin operation this year. The Baiyappanahalli-Whitefield line will open in two phases, with the KR Puram-Whitefield section opening first.
