Srinagar, 15 July: The news of fraternity has come to light from Surankote in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. In which 2 soldiers have died and 2 others are seriously injured. Army sources said that two Army personnel lost their lives and two others were injured in a case of fraternity that took place on Friday (July 15) morning at 156 Territorial Army Battalion, Surankot in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. A detailed inquiry has been ordered into the matter. Although earlier there was news of the death of one jawan, but later this number increased to two.
Giving an update on Friday afternoon, Army sources said, “The death toll has risen to 2. “The incident of brotherhood took place at 5:30 am today when a jawan opened fire on three other soldiers in his barracks and later shot himself in the stomach with his own weapon,” the army said.
Three soldiers of the camp were injured in the firing, one died in the hospital. Officials said a soldier was already found dead at the site of the shootout. Preliminary reports suggest that this was a case of Fratricide. However, the army has not yet issued any statement on the incident. The three injured were admitted to the Military Hospital in Udhampur.
